British Library Open Day: Exploring the Collections: Social Sciences

Wednesday 16 November 2016

On Monday 30 January 2017, the British Library will be running an open day for social sciences aimed at first year PhD researchers.  The British Library’s unique collections offer huge potential for social science researchers. The vast and varied collections include books, journals, government and legal documents, reports, oral history interviews, magazines and broadcast news.

At this introductory event you will learn about these collections and will discover how to unlock their potential for your research. From anthropology to socio-legal studies, from sociology to economics, from health studies to business and management, you will find resources here that are unavailable elsewhere.  The day is an opportunity to meet with  the British Library's expert staff and other researchers across the social sciences.  The course programme for the day can be viewed here.

To make the most of your day, it is recommended that you register for a free Reader Pass before the event.

These events are aimed at first year PhD students who are new to the Library. Each day focuses on one aspect of the Library’s collections. You are welcome to attend the day you will find most useful to you.  Lunch and refreshments are provided. Booking is essential.
